WHAT IS DEMENTIA
Dementia is an umbrella term for a series of progressive neurological conditions. It involves loss of the ability to think, remember, and reason — and sometimes to control emotions and behaviours. Changes in certain brain regions cause neurons (nerve cells) and their connections to stop working properly.
While there’s no cure for dementia, medications and lifestyle modifications can slow disease progression. Lifestyle strategies can also reduce the risk of disease development, sometimes in significant ways.

Educational Films
NHS Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (ICB) has developed 10 educational films which are hosted here.
Each film is designed to work as a stand-alone resource and can be viewed in any order, although watching the introductory film is useful initially, to understand the background to the project.
